Why is it, that when you’re on a diet, or watching what you eat, people seem to get the sudden urge to bring in those really good, yet really bad for you items? That seems to happen to me all the time even when no one knows I’m dieting. What’s worse, no one seems to be very supportive, they tell you things like “you look fine” or “it’s a special occasion”.
Frankly, I’m as willing to admit that it’s easy to ignore the fact that I’ve gained weight and just go about eating without considering the consequences. Unfortunately, my pants like to remind me otherwise.
While I’m on the topic, let me pose this question; What the hell is with TV these days, one moment there’s a Pizza commercial and the next there’s a commercial where some guy is showing off his ripped abs in order to sell clothing/Bowflex/perfume? Maybe, the TV does make us fat just not in the way most of us think. Maybe, it’s the pizza that looks so good, and the depressing reality that we will not look as good as the people we see on TV that drives us back to the pizza for comfort…..
In the end, no matter how much we try, we can’t completely avoid the TV or the “Treat Days” at work or any of the other things that constantly drive us to eat. I guess that’s why studies have shown that the only people that are really capable of losing a large amount of weight, are the ones who spend their every waking moment consumed with the idea of eating only what the need to eat.
What a pathetic backwards life we live in
